What is hikari3.ch?

hikari3 is an anonymous image board, similar to sites like Futaba Channel, 4chan, and its many derivitives, but with a focus of being more comfy than those through a pretty tight knit community with moderation that may be a bit more overbearing compared to something like 4chan, but also hopefully not too filtering.

I started it on May 21st, 2023 and it continues to run (formerly by mom's credit cards) via free money.

The primary focus at hikari3 is discussion surrounding chinese cartoons (anime), manga, video games, technology, etc. but these aren't the only topics discussed on the site.

• March 2023: I am bored and put up a random jschan instance (unrelated) for me and my friends to shitpost on. Didn't go anywhere and dies off later that month.
• April 23 2023: I start thinking that trying to start an actual community would be pretty cool and fun so I start over and register hikari3.ch
• May 21 2023: After much procrastination, I made a modified version of 8moe's frontend then started a thread on Heyuri.net/b/ (a board I was frequenting at the time) about my new site and from there, some other people posted it on other boards like danger/u/, the Post Office textboard, cudan, Kissu, etc.
• May 30 2023: hikari3 is featured on allchans.org in regards to a request that I made for the site admin to put it up. I think this was really helpful since it seems that this is how a bunch of people found us.
• July 4 2023: We got raided by a certain site for the first (of many) times. I started doing daily backups soon after.
• July 21 2023: I keep forgetting this but we used to have it so that anybody could create a board, but I disabled it because it's a horrible idea.
• April 12 2024: Hikari-chan and Heyuri-tan make hot sweet yuri sex diplomacy.

The board for threads with topics that don't fit any of the other boards. By far the most active board (has surpassed 10k posts while all other boards have only surpassed 1k) meaning there are funny posts, actually interesting posts, and horrible posts. (This could apply to all boards but it's moreso this one.)

It's as the name suggests, used to be split but was merged to reduce board bloat. One of the less active boards as of late, but it has some interesting threads.

it's fukken vidya gaems. Game nights happen here (At least until May 2025).

Discussion relating to technology and proramming. gtfo windows and macfriends The most active of the interest boards I think.

/aca/ - Academic Topics

Delisted, we're too kool 4 skool (Only delisted because I wanted oekaki and wanted to avoid more board bloat)

Hikari-chan

Hikari-chan, our mascot. She shows up on the front-page, the logo, the emotes, etc. The art of her on the homepage was created by MEMEow. She is a being of light that kind of resembles Cirno.
